That just because two people argue,

Two people can look at the exact same

Thing and see something totally different.

Hours by people who don’t even know you.

Although I greatly appreciate the concern and prayers of our friends and family members, please remember that violence and crime are not strangers to our ‘home’ towns. In past years I have woke up to the sounds of gun fire while living in Chico or police helicopters hovering over the neighborhood looking for armed criminals in Ranch Cordova. I was born and raised East of LA and delivered parts for my father’s business in many rough neighborhoods. I traveled the US shortly after the Chicago Riots and just barely missed out being in Israel during the battles of 73. Bad things happen everywhere. We are in God’s hands here or in the USA. Please don’t fret over current events. We serve a BIG God and he is here in San Felipe with us.

The Storm – Source Unknown

The Storm
They were together in the House. Just the two of them.

It was a cold, dark, stormy night. The storm had come quickly and

each time the thunder boomed he watched her jump.

She looked across the room and admired his strong
appearance…and

wished that he would take her in his
arms, comfort her and protect her from the storm.

Suddenly, with a pop, the power went out… She screamed…

He raced to the sofa where she was cowering.

He didn’t hesitate to pull her into his arms.

He knew this was a forbidden union and expected her to pull back.

He was surprised when she didn’t resist but instead clung to him.

The storm
raged on…

They knew it was wrong…

Their families would never understand… So consumed were
they in their FEAR that they heard no opening of doors…
just the faint click of a camera……

Now that you have smiled today, won’t you please help someone else?

Chuck’s Activities

Chuck’s activities can be summed up in a picture better than words… watch the video and see for yourself.

Susan’s Activities

Two months into my retirement and two months to go until until Chuck’s. My days are flying by. They are occupied with three occupations: getting fit, learning about starting up an online business and domestic tasks… you know, like shopping, cooking and sometimes even housework.

My personal health goal is to do at least one activity a day that contributes to a healthier and fitter body. To that end, Staci and I have signed up at the local gym and we are attending yoga classes, sometimes together, sometimes alone. I have also started to participate in a water aerobics class. I don’t always make one or the other but when I don’t, I do a session on the stationary bike in the living room and listen to my NLP (neurolinguistic programing ?…aka self hypnosis) recordings. No major changes but it is becoming easier to stick to the routines than it was when I began.

On the web I am having a blast! I have half dozen “blogs” going. My favorites are So Where To From Here, Cheaper Living Tips, Thinking About Losing Weight, and of course the Staci’s Fan Club. They all have growing traffic counts and I am starting to get inquires for other site owners and advertisers who think they are worth soliciting for ad space. Note… anytime you click through to a product or web site from one of my pages you add a few cents to my retirement travel fund and I thank you profusely for your contributions. So feel free to access Amazon, Amway or Google from my web sites!

You may or may not agree with me on this subject.

I must admit that my beliefs have been severely tested in the past when a woman I knew and cared about was faced with this choice. It is always harder when the subject affects someone close to you. I offer only my love and prayers for those who have in the past made this choice. I know they did not do so lightly without agonizing over the consequences.

I am posting this video not as a judgment on those who have chosen abortion in the past, but in hopes that it will help someone not make that chose in the future. There are other options.

If you know of someone in need of help finding another option, please feel free to write me at susan@fromthedeck.net. I am not personally involved in any group or organization related to this topic but I will do what I can to locate the help they need.
